Our Community Fund is named in honour of a long-time palliative care volunteer, Board Member and Treasurer of the Society – Bill Field.
Bill always focused on the real and immediate needs of each palliative patient and their family. His passion for helping in concrete, tangible ways continues to inspire us and "sets the compass" for the Bill Field Community Fund.
The Bill Field Community Fund is a separate fund managed by the Society. The Society uses the Fund to provide financial assistance directly to palliative patients and their families in need. Currently, the Fund is used to provide financial support to cover costs currently outside the standard medical system. These include items such as specialized personal aides, medical supply rentals and home support in the form of taxi-fares, home-cleaning, babysitting and other services.
As the Bill Field Community Fund grows, the Society hopes to expand the amounts available to help patients and families in need and to broaden the scope of expenses covered. To help us continue Bill Field's legacy and to commemorate this passionate volunteer and advocate for palliative and hospice care on the North Shore, please consider making a donation to the Bill Field Community Fund.
To donate, send a cheque made out to the North Shore Hospice Society (for the Bill Field Community Fund) to PO Box 54019, 1562 Lonsdale Avenue, North Vancouver BC V7M 3L5 or go to our Donations Page to make your donation on-line.
