The North Shore Hospice:  A Community Effort

After decades of effort, the North Shore Hospice was opened in November 2010.  Vancouver Coastal Health, Lions Gate Hospital Foundation, Lions Gate Hospice Society and Family Services of the North Shore created a partnership that raised over $8 million to construct and equip the first free-standing hospice on Vancouver's North Shore.

Lions Gate Hospice Society was proud to contribute $500,000 to the construction of the Hospice in memory of Werner Zimmerman.

Hospice Location and Driving Directions

The North Shore Hospice is located at 319 East 14th Street, North Vancouver.

Location:  see this MAP. 

Driving North on Lonsdale:  Turn right at 13th Street.  Pass Lions Gate Hospital on your left.  Turn left at Ridgeway Avenue.  At the round-about take the 3rd exit onto E. 14th Street.  The Hospice is on the South side at the end of this cul-de-sac.  There is limited street parking on 14th Street.

Driving South on Lonsdale (from the Upper Levels Highway):  Take Exit 18 to Lonsdale Avenue South.  Proceed on Lonsdale Avenue South.  Turn left at 15th Street. Pass Lions Gate Hospital on your left.  Turn left at Ridgeway Avenue.  At the round-about take the 3rd exit onto E. 14th Street.  The Hospice is on the South side at the end of this cul-de-sac.  There is limited street parking on 14th Street

Hospice Parking Lot:  There is a paid parking lot at the rear of the Hospice.  The entrance to the parking lot is off 15th Street immediately east of St. Andrews Avenue.  There is a blue sign for the North Shore Hospice - parking and deliveries.
