Honour A Life and Memorial Tree

The annual Honour a Life Celebration was held on Thursday December 2 at West Vancouver United Church.  Members of the North Shore communities gathered to remember loved ones lost.    

The Lions Gate Hospice Society wishes to thank the North Shore Palliative Care Program staff for everything they did to make this year's Honour A Life celebration a success. The annual event was a wonderful mix of people, sounds and images, of reflections and meditations. Voices raised in song, voices silenced for a moment to honour the memory of those who have died, voices joined together once again at the Memorial Tree at  foot of 19th Street to sing softly and marvel at this lovely tree aglow and adorned with colourful, inspirational memorial cards.

Kudos also go to the volunteers who welcomed community members to WVUC, oversaw things in the gym and church and who braved the rain and darkness to guide us safely to the tree. None of this could have happened without their helping hands.
